As you can clearly see I feared this and THAT was the reason I ‘soured’ on the ‘movement’.

So what has transpired now, i.e., December 2015.

So let me try to explain AGAIN as to why I feared this would happen and why that put me at odds with those that thought they were onto a good thing.

CURRENTLY New Hampshire, like most other States, do NOT have any State-level laws precluding toplessness.

So the female nipple was and still is FREE (bar some silly, unenforceable local ordinances, e.g., Gilford beach).

When the New Hampshire ‘Free The Nipple‘ movement came to be WE did NOT know that there were NO State Laws against toplessness. We assumed that there must be.

Then we FOUND OUT.

And as far as I was concerned that turned everything on its head.

No laws meant that the nipple was FREE.

PROTESTING and asking it to be FREED — when it was already FREE — was just asking for trouble.

That was my issue, my problem and my fear.

Protesting against something that was already FREE was STUPID.

NOW if these new laws come into force yes there will be something to protest.

But what a shame.

“…in a way that would alarm or offend a reasonable person.” Interesting wording. Reasonable people would not be alarmed.

  2. William says :

and here is why this backfired. The democrat primaries are happening in New Hampshire. And the last thing the political class wants are a bunch of topless ‘hippies’ running around. Especially when one of the nominees is a old white male cuck and the other is a dried up old prune who hasn’t been seen nude in decades.

While I applaud the effort, New Hampshire was a bad idea.

  3. Matthew Kerwin says :

Thing is – often nudity or toplessness is not specifically prohibited, but just try to go about top free or nude and you will get ticketed or arrested on some charge such as lewdness or “disturbing the peace”, so movements and protests are still needed until rulings are made specifically determining that nudity or, for females, toplessness is a protected state.
