cnbcdish12121As I posted here, 3 weeks ago, I noticed that the Dish HD picture quality, on our two HD TVs, was far, far, far inferior to that of DirecTV.

Kind of came as a shock since we had switched from DirecTV to Dish — and the two TVs were the same.

I remember, from 2 years ago, that we all noticed that the DirecTV picture quality was ‘infinitely’ better than that of Dish, when we switched from Dish to DirecTV. [Yes, the 2 year contract game.]

I also know that this inferior picture quality has to do with Dish transmitting LESS bandwidth (and as such ‘lines’) for certain channels OUTSIDE of Prime Time. Yes, CNN on Dish at 10pm can look dazzling. The difference is that CNN and all other channels with DirecTV looked that good ALL of the time.

Though I turn on CNBC on TV, as soon as I wake up (around 8:20 am), I don’t really watch it. I listen to it while I read the news on the U.K. “Daily Mail” on my Pad.

This morning I had a real close look at CNBC per Dish.

OMG. OMG.

Its was dreadful. Grainy, out of focus and at a resolution far below SD — never mind HD. Now if I was getting this on an Internet connection you could blame connection speed. But I am getting this BROADCAST down from a satellite. So I can’t control the bandwidth.

This is bad. Very bad. Dish should be ashamed.

Lets start with the YouTube video

Wow.
Yes, of course, like with so much in my life, I got the heads up
from the U.K. “Daily Mail” which I read on my pad, first thing each morning,
religiously.

Click to access, as always, very informative “Daily Mail” article.

Wow!
Yes, of course, I knew what YOU were thinking.
Yes, it crossed my mind too.
Well, it is NOT as neat as you would think or hope.
Bummer — in more than one sense of the word. SMILE.
(Think about that. SMILE.)

This was at the ACS 8th Grade Celebration on Tuesday, June 23, 2015. This baby, with a bunch of family members, was right behind me. Did not make a squeak. As good as can be and as sweet as button. I do NOT know who she is who her parents are. She was just the right distance away for my Canon EFS 55 – 250 mm zoom. So I could not resist. I showed the pictures, of course, on the LCD, to her family. They, of course, liked them. As I said I don’t know who they are. BUT if they want these pictures they are ALL THEIRS. If they contact me I will even gladly givem them the full size (4MB) images that can be printed at over 10″ and will still have very good resolution.

That we don’t, alas, manage to get there as often as I would like, or as often as we should, does not mean that we don’t think that the “Taste of India” is a very good place to eat — decent Indian food. It is invariably a case that Dover is not a place that we typically stop for dinner or lunch.

I had put them TOP of my list of 10 Indian restaurants in New Hampshire in 2012, and there is no reason, whatsoever, as to why I would even think of changing that ranking. Overall, when you factor taste, SERVICE, price, cordiality and pleasantness of surroundings the “Taste of India” invariably has to come up trumps. A WMUR poll of Indian restaurants in NH confirmed that.

We went to the “Taste of India”, this last Sunday, Father’s Day, after we had gone to see the comedy “Jurassic World“.

It was good. Very agreeable. We ordered a fair amount of appetizers because we all like them.

They made me some very spicey Lamb Shahi Korma and we had a Saag Paneer variant with chicken biryani and Aloo Paratha. It was all good. The kids liked it. They ate a bunch. But we still had 3 containers to bring home. It was good. Got to chat with very personable Joga Singh, an ex-math teacher, now the co-owner (with his brother) and Manager. It was very nice. They have a buffet Wednesday nights and Sunday afternoons. We definitely plan to go. So should YOU.
