For the first time this year I was able to go for my huffing, puffing, wheezing, groaning, creaking (painfully slow) slog up Prospect Mountain Road without my thick woolen hat to keep my ears warm.
That to me is the first sign of spring up here.
Yes, there is still some snow around BUT much more has gone than I had expected.
It was 28°F yesterday morning when I work up. It was 43°F. Forecast looks promising. Haven’t seen any of the lakes recently. Assume that they still have some ice cover.
But, spring has sprung. There are buds on the trees. Teischan noticed them 4 days ago. I saw some green grass in the yard.
I have been running in just two sweatshirts on top, rather than a ski jacket, all this week. Soon it will be down to one sweat and by June I hope to be running just in shorts, bare chested. That to me is Summer. Best part of running in the Summer. I will keep you posted.
