I have been reading American car magazines for 25 (+) years not so much because I am into cars but because I love the very free-flowing, avant-garde, ‘no holds barred’ style of the writing. You hadn’t noticed? Have you read an American car magazine of late. It is like they bend over backwards to be original, provocative, irreverent and clever. All the things I so ardently wish that I could capture in my writing. That is why I have been reading these car magazines for so long — albeit, alas and alack, to no avail, since I still fail, miserably, to reach their apparently effortless style.

Of late I have also been reading Alton Central School (ACS) “Superintendent’s Blog”, by the redoubtable, William (Bill) Lander Esq., for the same reason — I am so much in awe of its easy, near Pepysian, with a touch of Chaucer, style, not to mention its piquant profoundness occasionally spiced with biting humor.

[That the JOKER in charge of the ACS Website calls this outstanding blog, ‘BLANDER‘, in the URL is no laughing matter. Check it out. This is the URL:
http://www.myacs.org/pages/AltonCentralSchool/sau72/blander.
There is nothing BLAND about this blog or Mr. B. Lander. Given that people make fun of me and my name incessantly, I don’t like it when people pun with other’s name. So, I always correct her, and then get shouted at, when she calls him ‘Will Slander‘ and claims that it was a slip of the tongue. It is a shame that nobody at ACS reads this stupid blog because they really should change that URL so that it doesn’t say ‘blander’. Maybe it should end: ‘billysblog’. That is bland enough.]

Anyhow, this ad was on page 137 of the September 2013 issue of “Motor Trend“. No, no. I don’t buy and U.S. car magazine. I don’t have the money. I pick them up, for free, at the dump or the Alton Library discarded magazine bin. It doesn’t matter to me how old they are. Oh, I nearly forgot. I learn so much from those magazines too, just as I do from the B. Lander blog. Honest, until yesterday I did not know what ‘haptic‘ meant. What can I say. English is my second language and I strive everyday to get better acquainted. Haptic. Beautiful word. Love the meaning. I am into haptic.

Click to ENLARGE. No I haven't visited the site. Really am crazy busy trying to finish my latest pope book. Deanna, for sure, will check it out when she sees this post and report. We won't be able to afford anything from there anyway.
