Monday night I even talked about it. One of the ladies in the audience had sold ‘Buddy Poppies‘ and was very familiar with the tradition. She told me a bunch of stuff I didn’t know.
I checked the pictures from last night. I am wearing it during the presentation.
When I got home it was gone. I checked the car. No luck. Tonight I went back to the library and checked the room. No luck. The librarian wasn’t there (and I have e-mailed her) and maybe she picked it up. Deanna is going to stop by in the morning. [We were out all day today.]
I am bummed. Yes, I still have another one. But, I don’t want to lose that! That is stored in a box.
Last night, I bought two poppy pins on e-bay, one from home (i.e., Britain). But, I won’t have them before 11/11.
We went to the local Legion HQ to see if they were selling Buddy Poppies. I couldn’t even get in. I guess they don’t let brown folks in. I don’t blame them.
I am really not that partial to the Buddy Poppy design with the ‘green’ in the middle. Love the Canadian, pressed flower, rigid, design with the black middle. I will try and see if I can order some online.
