All taken in the span of about 90-minutes across 3 locations in Bar Harbor, Maine: The ‘Wonder View Inn‘ (where we were staying (per usual)), the beach at the ‘Bar’ which gives the town its name and the rest in the town center (by the green).

Acadia's 151′ Schooner

These were shot from the balcony of our room at the ‘Wonder View Inn‘ with my Nikon P900. I checked the distance on a map. Straight line it is close to 4 miles.

Read this post for more about Superzooms shots with the Nikon P900 during this last trip to Acadia.

I have been by the Egg Rock Lighthouse by boat.

So, I do have some real close-ups. That was in June 2015 with a Canon T3i.

And this was in the June 2017 trip, shot from ‘Schooner Head‘ (one of our favorite haunts) with my Sony a7 II.

Acadia’s 151′ Schooner, “Margaret Todd”, Through The Superzoom Lens Of A Nikon P900.

Acadia's 151′ Schooner

These were all taken from the balcony of our room at the ‘Wonder View Inn‘, Bar Harbor during our June 2529, 2017 visit, our 8th to Acadia in the last 3 years.

For the first time in my life, that I can remember, I travelled with 3 cameras: my Full-Frame Sony a7 II, my APS-C Sony a6500 and my Superzoon Nikon P900.

I took 99.9% of the 1,000+ pictures I shot with my two Sonys and you can find some of those pictures here.

Though I did take the Nikon with me in the van it appears I only used it from the balcony of our hotel room.

So here are some superzoom pictures taken with the Nikon P900. Also check those posted yesterday.

View Of Bar Harbor & Acadia From Our Balcony At ‘Wonder View Inn’ — June 29, 2017.

by Anura Guruge

The morning of Thursday, June 29, 2017. We were in Room 67, way up at the top, in the Hillcrest Building. This was our 5th stay at the ‘Wonder View‘. We like it and over the last 3 years got to know some of the staff. You couldn’t beat this view. I love getting up in the morning to see what delights awaits and it is always interesting to see the coming and going of the tidal sand bar to Bar Island.

Shot with my Sony a7 II.
