“Great British Bake Off” (Show) 2016, Series/Season 7, Will Start On U.K. BBC August 24, 2016.

by Anura Guruge

With luck, and if the 2016 Series/Season 6 was an indication, the BBC episodes will be available on YouTube within 24 hours.

Last year we watched all of Season 6 on YouTube months AHEAD of the show being broadcast on PBS.

That is our hope for Series 7 too.

I will keep you posted on which YouTube videos actually work. Yes, there will, ALAS, be a ton of fakes and I am not sure why people bother with such deception. Very sad.

2016 Bikinis You Are Unlikely To See In New Hampshire — Maybe Best Compromise To “Free The Nipple”.

Well, of course, in “Live Free or Die” New Hampshire, the top part is completely and totally optional. Despite all the clamour that would indicate otherwise New Hampshire, as a State (like so many other States), freely PERMITS female toplessness — without caveats.

But there are indeed strict laws about keeping all parts below the waistline covered to an extent — for both genders.

All that said bikinis are not that prevalent in New Hampshire — and in my experience they have never been in the 30 years I have lived here (15 of that waterfront). And you can’t blame it on the cold. It is in the 90°F (32°C) today. IF I go to any of the Lake Winnipesaukee beaches I am sure the bikini quotient will be under 50% — possibly way under.

Given that the the subtitle of this blog does say “A life of granite in NH” I feel that it is my duty to share such insights with YOU.

Enjoy.

Malaysian Airlines MH370: 28 Months In They Think They Have The Search Area Wrong!

by Anura Guruge

Absolute bloody genius.

After 28 months, i.e., 2 years and 4 months, it suddenly dawns on them that they may have got it wrong!

Ah!

I have been telling ‘them’ for that long, i.e., 28 months, that they are looking in the wrong place.

Amazing. Malaysia, China & Australia. Remember Tony Abbott (shown here on right)? Claiming they were ‘so close’. Wreckage will be found soon!

Wow.

West Indies vs. India 1st Test, Antigua — Sad & Sorry To See The Imposing BUT Empty Stadium.

by Anura Guruge

wiindia2016sirviv2313

Now (i.e., Thursday, July 21) that I finally got to see the exciting end of the England vs. Pakistan 1st Test from Lord’s (after TEN screwed up the 3rd days highlights), I decided to watch the start of the West Indies v. India 1st Test, Day 1.

Could NOT believe how empty the stadium was. WOW. Talk about “one man and his dog”. As far as I could see there were hardly any paying spectators and definitely no dogs. Wow. I had heard that Test cricket was no longer that popular in the Indies but this was outrageous. Yes, ticket prices must have been a factor too. Has to be very dispiriting to play in such an empty stadium, especially when it is so big.

Got to see my hero (who I had met many times in the 1970s) Sir Vivian Richards. Wow. He has got dark. He was never that black. He looks older than what he is — though, as ever, he is remarkably trim. It was good to see him though it was a shock to the system.
